The Ohio State football team is ranked No. 2 in the Week 12 AP Poll and after Saturday’s games there was a shakeup in the Top 10.

Will the Ohio State football team drop to No. 2 in the CFP rankings even after a 59 point win with LSU defeating Alabama? And will the Crimson Tide stay in the Top 4?

That’s the case in this week’s AP Poll.

Clemson moved up to No. 3, one spot ahead of Alabama. Minnesota moved up to No. 7 after a big win over Penn State.

It’s about time the 9-0 Gophers moved past two loss teams. Granted, they hadn’t played strong teams before Week 11, but why were they ranked behind teams who had lost twice?

And was Minnesota’s schedule weaker than one highly ranked team?

I thought it was interesting how many teams from each conference was ranked this week and one may surprise you. See what you think by taking a look at the Top 25 teams in the Week 12 AP Poll.

  1. LSU
  2. Ohio State
  3. Clemson

  25. Oklahoma State

The Big Ten has seven ranked teams followed by the SEC with five. Each conference has three teams in the Top 10.

The Big 12 and the American Athletic Conference each have four teams ranked in the Top 25, the Pac 12 has two and there is one each from the ACC and Mountain West. Notre Dame of course is an Independent.

Remember the day when an undefeated team from a weak conference may not be thought of as a Top 10 team at this point of the season. Now, Clemson is ranked No. 3 when no other ACC team is ranked in the Top 25.

It must have been those non-conference wins over Charlotte and Wofford that impressed the voters.

Tuesday we will find out how the CFP Committee sees things heading into Week 12. It will be interesting to see which teams are in the Top 10 and in what order.
