Ohio State Football: Picking the spread Week 12, undefeated teams clash
The Ohio State football team will be back on the field and there are clashes between undefeated teams in both the Big Ten and SEC.
I should have taken a cue from the Ohio State football team and took last week off. I was only 1-3 picking the spread of games involving Top 10 teams. That put my record this season at 31-25.
Let’s see if I can get back on track in Week 11.
Ohio State (1) by 43 over Maryland: Last year the Terrapins nearly upset the Buckeyes. This game won’t be close.
Aside from the win over Rutgers, Maryland hasn’t been great on either side of the ball in Big Ten play. Ohio State has a high-powered offense and the No. 1 scoring defense in the country. I’ll take the Buckeyes to cover.
Alabama (3) by 6.5 over LSU (2): Man I’m looking forward to this game. I have total respect for Nick Saban and Alabama and I followed LSU QB Joe Burrow when he was a senior in high school. I think this game could go down to the wire so I’ll take the Tigers and the points.
Penn State (4) by 6.5 over Minnesota (17): This has the potential to be a great game but I think Penn State’s defense will be too much for Minnesota’s offense. I think the Nittany Lions win by at least a touchdown.
Clemson (5) by 34 over NC State: You know the Tigers have to be mad being ranked No. 5 and will try to win big over the Wolfpack. I’ll take Clemson and lay the points.
Georgia (6) by 17 over Missouri: After their big win last week I think the Bulldogs may have a letdown early. That’s why I think the Tigers will hang around for a while so I’ll take the points.
Oklahoma (9) by 14.5 over Iowa State: I think the Sooners have too much firepower for the Cyclones to keep pace. I’ll take Oklahoma and lay the points.
Florida (10) by 27 over Vanderbilt: I’m not sure how Florida will respond after losing to Georgia so I’ll take Vanderbilt and the points.
There you have it, my Week 11 picks against the spread. This promises to be a fun Saturday with games on tap that could shake up the College Football Playoff race.
