The Ohio State football team has the week off but there are interesting games on tap. We will make our predictions on games that could affect the CFP race.

The Ohio State football gets a break from the action this week so those of us at Scarlet And Game will predicting key games involving Top 10 teams. Thomas Scurlock will get us started with his predictions.

Florida vs. Georgia:

The SEC East Division gets settled this weekend when the Bulldogs and Gators collide for the 97th time. Georgia leads the series 51-43-2 and won the last two meetings in blowouts.

I have feeling this game will be closer.

Florida has been tested playing Auburn and LSU already.  The Gators gave looked good in both games.

The Bulldogs have been inconsistent on offense, especially passing which is odd considering Jake Fromm is one of the better quarterbacks in college football. They do lead the SEC in rushing and that bodes well in this game because the team that has rushed for more yards has won the last 12.

I expect a low scoring slugfest since both defenses rank in the top 12 in points allowed.

Georgia will make a few extra plays in the fourth quarter to pull out the 20-17 win.

Oregon at USC:

The Ducks flirted with disaster last week against Washington State squeaking out the two-point win.

If they play that way again, they will lose and their chances of making the CFP will be killed along with the Pac 12’s With that in mind, I think Mario Cristobal has his team ready to go.

Justin Herbert passes for 300-yards and three touchdowns, and the Ducks’ defense gets back to playing well.

Oregon wins 37-20.

Utah at Washington:

Since their loss to the USC Trojans five weeks ago, the Utes have been on a roll allowing only 23 points over the last four games. The Huskies have lost two out the last three games as their normally strong defense has stumbled

If this game were in Utah, I would easily pick a comfortable win for the Utes.  It’s not so I suspect the score will be closer than it really should be.

Utes get a late turnover to secure the 30-24 win.
