The Ohio State football team has the week off but there are interesting games involving Top 10 teams and at least one will impact the CFP race.

In week 10, the Ohio State football team and others in the CFP race have a bye. Four other teams will have difficult battles to stay in playoff contention.

Once again I will pick against the spread involving teams tanked in the Top 10 in the AP Poll. I’ll use point spreads from the Action Network.

I’ll begin with a game involving a team that basically has the week off.

Clemson by 48.5 over Wofford:  Seriously, Tigers vs. Terriers in Week 10? Why would a powerhouse team in the weak ACC schedule an FCS team this late?

The only thing I can figure is Clemson is lobbying to join the SEC.

I’m betting Dabo Swinney will pull his regulars early so they will be rested for next week when they will face a team allowed to have 85 scholarship players. I’ll take Wofford to lose by 48 points or less.

Now for interesting games with Top 10 teams actually going up against tough foes.

Georgia (8) by 6.5 over Florida (6)):  I have been waiting for this game and I expect it to be a good one. The two teams are rivals which always makes things interesting, and the winner will more than likely win the SEC West.

I had the Florida Gators on my radar in August and they have performed well. With all of the talent Kirby Smart has amassed since taking over as head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, I think his team has underperformed.

I think the most consistent team wins this game so I’ll definitely take Florida and the points.

Utah (9) by 3 over Washington: This a tough call. I think the Utes are a very good team but they have to play on the road against the Huskies who have an excellent head coach in Chris Peterson. I think Utah’s playoff hopes will end after the game so I’m taking Washington and the points.

Oregon by 3.5 over USC:  I think the other Pac 12 team in the CFP race goes down as well.

Like Utah, Oregon has to go on the road and USC is having a nice season. The Ducks have a nice team but I think the Trojans have too much talent.

I’ll take USC and the points.

Next. Week 10 predictions, big games on tap. dark

There you have it, my Week 10 picks against the spread. With three big games on tap, it will be interesting to see what the Top 10 looks like next week.
