The Ohio State football team has a bye week in Week 10. The Buckeyes are still ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll but the numbers say they are still at the top.

The November stretch drive is about to begin and the Ohio State football team has the week off. There is a huge game down south that could make the College Football Playoff race interesting though.

And with upsets the last three weeks, who knows what will happen in Week 10. Enough about that, let’s get to this week’s Top 10 according to the numbers.

As always I will use four key stats. Total offense, scoring offense, total defense and points allowed. I’ll look at the Top 10 teams according to the numbers and list their rankings in this week’s AP Poll.

Remember, the lower the score the better.

Florida No. 6 in the AP Poll:  Total offense (52), scoring offense (45), total defense (25) and scoring defense (12). Total score 134

Oregon No. 7 in the AP Poll:  Total offense (25), scoring offense (24), total defense (20) and scoring defense (9). Total score 78

Utah No. 9 in the AP Poll:  Total offense (30), scoring offense (37(, total defense (3) and scoring defense (4). Total score 74

Penn State No. 5 in the AP Poll:  Total offense (49), scoring offense (13), total defense (9) and scoring defense (2). Total score 73

Oklahoma No. 10 in the AP Poll:  Total offense (1), scoring offense (1), total defense (20) and scoring defense (42). Total score 64

Georgia No. 8 in the AP Poll:  Total offense (21), scoring offense (24), total defense (7) and scoring defense (5). Total score 57

LSU No. 1 in the AP Poll:  Total offense (3), scoring offense (4), total defense (24) and scoring defense (22). Total score 53

Alabama No. 2 in the AP Poll:  Total offense (8), scoring offense (2), total defense (19) and scoring defense (10). Total score 39

Clemson No. 4 in the AP Poll:  Total offense (4), scoring offense (7), total defense (4) and scoring defense (6). Total score 21

Ohio State No. 3 in the AP Poll:  Total offense (7), scoring offense (3), total defense (2) and scoring defense (1). Total score 13

I find it interesting through nine weeks of the season the Ohio State defense is one of the best in the country when it was a weakness in 2018. Also, LSU and Alabama have outstanding offenses but the defenses haven’t played to the high level we would have expected.

Next. Buckeyes have chance to make CFB history. dark

Anyway, those are the Top 10 teams in the country this week according to the numbers. I wonder if the College Football Playoff Committee will put any stock in them when they come out with their rankings soon.
