Michael Thomas | 11 Receptions, 112 Yards, 1 TD

Michael Thomas is getting some looks at MVP by some members of the media as he has been absolutely critical to their 7-1 record despite the loss of Drew Brees the second game of the season. Thomas once again starred on Sunday as he was able to get in the endzone once, and caught all 11 of the targets that came his way for 112 yards against the Cardinals.

This game marked the return of Drew Brees after a five-week absence due to a broken thumb suffered in Week 2. Although I’m sure Saints fans are very excited to have their future Hall of Fame quarterback back playing, I think many are realizing it doesn’t matter who is throwing the ball to Thomas, he is going to catch the ball.

He proved it with second-string quarterback Teddy Bridgewater behind center, and he continued to prove it with Brees back on the field as well.

If there is any receiver who deserves to win the MVP this season, it would have to be Thomas as the fourth year receiver has proved he is the best the NFL has to offer. Already this season he has 73 receptions for 875 yards and 4 touchdowns.

New Orleans has a bye week so we unfortunately won’t have him on this list in Week 9. But it will be fun to watch how Thomas and Brees continue to connect as the Saints barrel toward the playoffs once again this season.
