Cameron Heyward | 6 Tackles, 1 Sack, 1 Pass Defended

Now for a guy who was competing on the winning side of things on Monday night. Cameron Heyward has been terrorizing opposing offensive lines for a long time and that hasn’t really changed this year.

Heyward, in his 9th season in the NFL, has been an anchor on the Steelers defensive line since being drafted by Pittsburgh in the first round in 2011. This season he has 34 tackles, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble and 6.5 tackles for loss.

On Monday night, Heyward had six tackles, one sack and even a pass defended as he contributed to a win over the winless Dolphins.

The Steelers have won three of the last four games after starting out 0-3. A big part of the semi-revival to their season thus far has been the improvement to their defense and stopping the run.

Heyward has been a big part of that and he showed why on Monday night, as he was clogging lanes left and right against an inexperienced Miami offensive line.

It will definitely be interesting to keep tabs on this Steeler’s defense with veteran Heyward leading the way.
