Indiana (-1) at Nebraska

At the beginning of the season, how many would have guessed that the Hoosiers would be a favorite at Nebraska in the last Saturday of October?

Almost none.

This is a critical game for the Cornhuskers and an important one for Indiana. A loss drops Nebraska to 4-4 with games still remaining against Wisconsin and Iowa.  A promising season could end in disaster.

A win for Indiana makes them bowl eligible for the first time under Tom Allen. That’s a huge step for his program.

Nebraska was embarrassed by Minnesota two weeks ago, but the week off has given Adrian Martinez time to get back from injury.  His status is questionable, but I have to think he is ready to go.

On the other side, Michael Penix is a game-time decision but Patrick Ramsey is a capable backup.

The outcome comes down to the Cornhusker defense.  If it does not find a way to slow down the Hoosiers, it will be another long afternoon.  I am not optimistic.

Indiana wins a high-scoring game 38-35.
