John Simon | 2 tackles, 1 INT

Now here’s a name you probably thought you would never see on this list. But any defensive lineman that gets an interception on Thursday Night Football definitely deserves the honor.

Simon hasn’t suited up in a Buckeye uniform since Urban Meyer’s first season in Columbus and while not a star on the football field. Simon has quietly had a very solid NFL career racking up 190 tackles and 17 sacks over his seven-year career.

Currently Simon finds himself in the midst of two-year stretch with the New England Patriots, and was on the Super Bowl winning team last year. So far this season Simon has 15 tackles to the tune of two sacks as he serves as a rotation guy on a stout New England defense.

His Thursday Night Football performance wasn’t one for the history books but it included a deflected interception and that is good enough for me to put him on this list.

No one outside of Boston wants to see the Patriots win another Super Bowl this season, but if they do at least we can be happy for Simon, the lone Buckeye on the roster.
