Carlos Hyde | 26 att, 116 yards, 1 TD

Carlos Hyde is quietly having a fantastic season in Houston this year.

The veteran running back is in the midst of his sixth NFL season and is on pace to beat his career high in rushing yards of 988. Through six games, Hyde has gained 426 yards on 99 carries and has three touchdowns as well. Those 426 rushing yards are good for 10th in the NFL.

Those rushing totals definitely got a big boost in week six too as Hyde ran all over the Chiefs to the tune of 116 yards an 26 carries and one touchdown. Hyde has been a solid producer throughout his career on the 49ers, Browns, Jaguars and now Texans, but this year is seemingly a little different.

Hyde was sort of in no man’s land this off-season too, as his 571 rushing yards between the Browns and the Jaguars were the lowest since his sophomore season in the NFL. He was replaced after a mild showing in Cleveland by Nick Chubb, and could never find his footing in Jacksonville.

With former top running back for the Texans Lamar Miller sidelined for the season with an injury, Hyde has been more than enough for the Texans who are currently 4-2 in large part due to an improved offensive line, Deshaun Watson and the running of Hyde. Hyde’s big day on Sunday was a big reason why the Texans were able to outscore Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

I’m excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for the former Buckeye running back.
