Penn State (-3.5) at Iowa:

The other potential game of the week.

We are all well aware of the Kinnick Stadium magic when the lights turn on.

Will there be another upset?

Defensively, I think the Hawkeyes will be fine.  Penn State’s running game is not consistent.  If the defense can avoid getting gashed for big plays by K.J. Hamler and Jahon Dotson the game should be close.

Of course, that is a big if.

What it comes down to is the Hawkeyes lack offensive firepower.  They are averaging 27.4 points-per-game.  I would be shocked if they scored half that amount against the stingy Nittany Lions defense.

In Iowa’s favor this will be Sean Clifford’s first hostile atmosphere.  The crowd has a role in keeping him uncomfortable.

I think that impacts the first quarter, but Penn State takes control before half.  Second half will be low scoring with neither team generating much offense.

Penn State wins 27-13.
