Following the 34-10 win over the Michigan State Spartans the Ohio State Buckeyes moved into a tie for third in the AP Poll but should be ranked higher than at least one team.

In the Week 7 AP Poll Ohio State moved up into a tie for the No. 3 spot with Georgia. The Buckeyes should be ranked higher than at least one team ahead of them in this week’s poll for sure.

I’m not sure anybody but the AP voters, and die-hard Clemson fans, think the Tigers are playing like the No. 2 team in the country.

Look at these stats and see if you think they should be ranked that high.

Clemson:  38 points per game scoring while allowing 12 for a 26-point average margin of victory.

Georgia:  42.8 ppg , 10 allowed for a 32.8 margin

Ohio State:  52.4 ppg, 8.6 allowed for a 43.8 margin.

On a neutral field would you even pick Clemson to defeat No. 5 LSU ( 34.5 margin of victory) or No. 6 Oklahoma (36.7)?

I don’t think I would.

Anyway, here is a look at the rest of the top 25 teams in this week’s AP Poll.

There are six SEC teams ranked this week and five from the Big Ten. I find it interesting the American Athletic Conference has three teams ranked, the same number as the ACC, Big 12 and Pac 12.

There is one Mountain West team in the top 25 and of course Notre Dame is an Independent.

Important games in the Big Ten in Week 7 involving ranked teams are Penn State vs. Iowa and Wisconsin vs. Michigan State.

dark. Next. Big Ten Week 6 highlights and lowlights

There are several interesting games involving ranked teams coming up in Week 7 but none more so than Oklahoma vs. Texas and LSU vs. Florida. It should be a fun weekend of college football.
