Those of us at Scarlet And Game make our predictions on the Ohio State game each week. Here are ours for Week 5 as the Buckeyes take on the Cornhuskers.

Well, my two game winning streak on our Scarlet And Game predictions on Ohio State games came to an end. I thought the Buckeyes would pull out to a big lead and Ryan Day would throw in the backup players.

I just didn’t know they would keep on rolling. Since Blake Biscardi was the winner last week predicting a huge Buckeye win he gets to start this week’s predictions.

Blake:

Ohio State has rolled each of their first four opponents and don’t show any signs of slowing down. The Buckeyes have barely shown a weakness, but are they really invincible? We will soon find out in Lincoln as the Buckeyes’ toughest test yet awaits.

It will be a sold out crowd in Nebraska on Saturday night in hopes the Cornhuskers can script a third movie to make it a trilogy of stunning road night game upsets. But Ohio State and Buckeye Nation want it to remain just a sequel with no further plans of another remake.

I wrote earlier about how the Buckeyes can avoid an upset in Lincoln and I stand by those words. Ohio State will need to match the intensity of Nebraska early to withstand their opening adrenaline punches and then settle in and force the Cornhuskers to play their (the Buckeyes’) game.

I expect Justin Fields to spread the ball around as well as a heavy dose of JK Dobbins into the teeth of the defense. Also, look for the defense to be disruptive and force Adrian Martinez to have to play from behind the chains or off script which means a feast for Chase Young and the defensive line.

I like Ohio State to win comfortably in the second half following a battle for the first thirty minutes. The Buckeyes won’t look back as they continue to impress. They have surprised me each week by winning by more than I anticipate so I’ll take them but a touchdown more than what I believe happens to see if the trend continues.
