The season is already a third of the way through and Ohio State is off to a 4-0 start. The Buckeyes have guys putting up big numbers on almost every unit.

It’s hard to believe but we are already a third of the way through the regular season.  The Ohio State Buckeyes have not disappointed as they have looked great so far with a 4-0 record.

The schedule starts to heat up now as Ohio State will head to Nebraska to face the Cornhuskers in primetime.  To start out as good and as dominate as the Buckeyes have, you need all units at the top of their game.

We have gotten used to that so far but we have decided to take an early look at a few OSU players who are in the running for team MVP.  We have a couple of offensive guys, a defensive guy, and even one that makes an impact on special teams.

Let’s start with the offensive field general, quarterback Justin Fields.  To this point in the season he has lived up to the hype putting up huge numbers.

He has done it through the air throwing for 880 yards, 13 touchdowns and most importantly taking care of the ball with zero interceptions.  He has done a tremendous job throwing the ball away when needed instead of forcing throws.

Fields has also done it with his feet giving Ohio State yet another dimension in the backfield running for 150 yards and six more touchdowns.  Justin will only get better as the season goes along when he gets even more comfortable with this offense.

The next guy on our list is running back JK Dobbins who shares the backfield with Fields most of the time.   He has been open about wanting to have an even bigger year than last year and he is certainly on his way.

Through the first four games he has rushed for 477 yards on a seven yard per carry average and five touchdowns.  Dobbins also adds a receiving touchdown that includes five catches for a total of 42 yards.  He is well on his way to having a bigger season than last year and in the running for team MVP.
