Ohio State Football: How the Buckeyes avoid an upset in Lincoln
The Ohio State football team travels to Lincoln in hopes of ending their road night game woes of the past two seasons. Here’s how the Buckeyes do just that.
Over the last two seasons Ohio State has had a thorn in its side. A thorn that proven to be much larger than that as it virtually eliminated their playoff hopes in both 2017 and 2018. If you’re not sure what the “thorn” is by now, it’s playing road night games as the odds on favorite.
Not a soul in Buckeye Nation wants to relive or even speak about those two shocking defeats. However, they can’t stop wondering if it will happen again. For those of you who are worried for this Saturday’s matchup in Lincoln, fear not; despite last year’s five point victory.
The Buckeyes have been playing far superior football than all four of their opening opponents to help their rise back into the Top 5. Complimentary football has brought an offense that has been balanced and fluent as well as a defense playing fast without missing assignments.
ESPN’s College Gameday will be in town for the Big Ten showdown as Nebraska attempts to conquer Ohio State. Avoiding the upset is simple for the Buckeyes, just continue to play how they have been and they’ll leave Lincoln with a victory.
The offensive line has done a phenomenal job of protecting Justin Fields and opening up running lanes for him and JK Dobbins. Saturday will be both Fields’ and Ryan Day’s first nighttime road test in a raucous environment against the most talented team they’ve faced so far.
Now for what Ohio State has to do to come away with the win.
