The Ohio State Buckeyes are on a mission to get back to the College Football Playoff. Find out what’s been working and why they’ll be successful in 2019.

The Ohio State Buckeyes thoroughly dominated yet another opponent on Saturday as they virtually ran the Indiana Hoosiers out of their own building in the 51-10 victory.

Ohio State’s performances so far have silenced the skeptics and zeroed in the focus of the college football world to Columbus. With many, especially Big Ten foes, wondering how it’s possible to defeat the Buckeyes.

The Big Ten has looked solid through three weeks but has also endured some tough losses and questions about some of its top teams have arisen. To me, it is clear the conference has one premier team and that is the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Right now, even though the Buckeyes lost so much talent and Urban Meyer, it feels like Golden State getting Kevin Durant and becoming invincible to their conference. The hiring of Ryan Day, the addition of Justin Fields and bringing on Al Washington, Greg Mattison and Jeff Hafley have been home runs so far.

The Buckeyes biggest weakness through three games is Justin Fields missing a couple of receivers high and he’s just barely overthrowing the football. This team is a complete one playing with a chip on their shoulder absolutely throttling opponents.

The game management of Justin Fields has vastly improved in just three weeks as has his poise and command from the pocket. The storyline though is this offensive line, the guys upfront have done a tremendous job protecting Fields and opening up running lanes for him and JK Dobbins.

Dobbins ran for 193 yards and caught a few passes to bring his total yardage to 207 with a touchdown each on the ground and through the air. Chris Olave also had a phenomenal afternoon as he caught three passes for 70 yards and a touchdown.

Most notably, he blocked Indiana’s punt in the second quarter. Olave is the first Buckeye since himself (Michigan, 2018) to catch a touchdown pass and block a punt in the same game.

The players on the other side of the ball have been impressive as well.
