Nebraska (-14) vs. NIU

Was the hype premature? The Cornhuskers have been one of the more disappointing teams so far.  The good news it is still early.

After scraping by South Alabama in the first game, they blew a 17-point lead last week against Colorado giving up 24 points in the fourth quarter and losing 34-31 in overtime.

Now they face a scrappy Northern Illinois team that gave Utah a good fight last week.

Huskies quarterback Ross Bowers can sling it and Nebraska’s pass defense has been spotty.  It needs to tighten up the coverage or this could be another close game.

This will be a close game for a half.  Cornhuskers will roll in the third and finally show signs of life before the start of Big Ten play.

Cornhuskers win 38-20.
