For the most part, the first couple of weeks have gone as expected for the Big Ten.  There have been a few surprises, namely Nebraska coming out the gate slowly.

By and large, the Big Ten is proving it may be the deepest Power Five conference this season. Here is my first edition of the conference weekly top 6 power rankings.

Ohio State

Beating Cincinnati 42-0 is more impressive than it may seem.  The Bearcats are a good team that will push Memphis and UCF to win the AAC title.

We knew the offense would continue to roll even with Justin Fields learning the new playbook.  Ryan Day is an elite play caller and there are too many weapons.

After back-to-back season of playing well below historical standards, the strength of this team, at least right now, is the defense.

The coaching changes are paying off and all the players are in sync.  That’s bad news for the rest of conference.

Next up:  At Indiana.
