Tom: I have heard concern coming out of Buckeye Nation this week worrying that Cincinnati could pull the upset.

That is understandable given that Luke Fickell has a good team. It is not likely though.

The Bearcats remind me of teams like Northwestern.  Disciplined, fundamentally sound and solid players across the board.

What they don’t have is depth.

Fickell’s team will play physical and keep it close in the first half, but Ohio State’s talent will take over in the third building a comfortable lead by targeting the edges. Look for quick throws into space targeting J.K. Dobbins and K.J. Hill.  Both will have big games.

The defense will contain Michael Warren II limiting his to less than 50 yards.  Desmond Ridder will be forced to throw to win. He’ll have some success, but I think he will make a couple of costly mistakes.

They will exchange a couple of scores in the fourth as the Buckeyes kill the clock.

Ohio State wins 38-20.
