The NFL season is here and there will be plenty of former Ohio State players making names for themselves this year. Here are the top five Buckeyes in the NFL heading into the season.

Ohio State has made a lot a lot of noise putting players in the NFL under Urban Meyer and it shows, with 44 players making the roster to start the 2019 season this year. There are plenty of players that have made significant impacts on their organizations over the past few years and this gives the Buckeyes a leg up in recruiting against most other schools.

But who are the ones that are the cream of the crop? It’s an impressive bunch and I’ll start with this guy.

Marshon Lattimore

One of two Saints players that will make this list, Marshon Lattimore has been a beast on the field ever since he stepped on the field in New Orleans.

The defensive rookie of the year in 2017, Lattimore totaled 52 tackles, five interceptions and defended 22 passes. His passes defended ranked tied for third in the NFL in 2017 and the interceptions ranked tied for second among all NFL players that year.

Pretty impressive for a rookie.

Last season, a lot of people thought Lattimore took a step back from his fantastic rookie season. While this is true in part, it isn’t totally truthful.

Lattimore only recorded two interceptions and recorded eight less passes defended than the prior season. But Lattimore was able to increase his tackles to 59 and also forced four fumbles.

So while he wasn’t as great in coverage in 2018, he became a much harder-hitter at the corner position. If he can put those things together, look out.

Now for another Ohio State corner.
