Ohio State football: Big Ten West week 2 game predictions
Iowa (-19) vs. Rutgers
The Hawkeyes looked like a typical Kirk Ferentz team in its 38-14 win over Miami. Leading just 10-7 at halftime, Iowa took control in the second with a few long drives.
Rutgers pulled off an unusual win over UMass last week. After trailing 21-7, the Scarlet Knights scored 41 unanswered points. That’s right, 41 points.
Scoring 48 points is huge considering Rutgers scored 35 points in its opening win over Texas State last year. The most the Scarlet Knights scored in a game after that was 17.
This game will show us if Chris Ash finally has a competitive team.
I don’t expect Rutgers to win, but Ricky Blacksheer could make life a little difficult for the Hawkeyes.
I think the Scarlet Knights will catch Iowa looking ahead to its rivalry game against Iowa State next week and keep it close until late in the game.
Iowa win 34-24.
