Ohio State football: Big Ten West week 2 game predictions
Minnesota (-3) at Fresno State
Like Nebraska, the Golden Gophers struggled in week one, squeaking out a 28-21 victory over South Dakota State.
Shockingly, P.J. Fleck’s offense returned nine starters and managed to gain just 308 yards against an FCS opponent. That has to be worrisome heading to Fresno State.
The Bulldogs lost 31-23 to USC last week, but they played well.
Jeff Tedford is breaking in 13 new starters so it may take some time to get back to the level from last year.
Unlike last year, I expect this year to be a scoring bonanza. Tanner Morgan and Jorge Reyna will both pass for over 300 yards.
I like the Golden Gophers, barely, to pull out a late touchdown to win.
Minnesota 45-42.
