Some teams in the Big Ten Conference didn’t exactly shine in week one, especially those in the West Division. That should make this week interesting.

Every week this season I will make my predictions for Big Ten games.  First up is the West Division.

I went 2-4 last week against the spread and 4-2 straight-up so I need to raise my game.

The Big Ten West’s games are intriguing this week.

Nebraska (-4.5) at Colorado

For a team that is favored to win the Big Ten West Division, the Cornhuskers did not look the part against South Alabama last week.

Nebraska gained only 276 yards in the 35-21 win over the Jaguars.  Winning is what matters, but the Cornhuskers have to play considerably better to take down Colorado on the road.

Mel Tucker had a solid debut as Colorado’s head coach. The Buffaloes rushed for 243 yards and four touchdowns in the 52-31 win over rival Colorado State.

I hate calling early contests must win games but this has that feel.  Expectations are high for Nebraska.  It needs a solid non-conference win to show it is ready for conference play.

Adrian Martinez was awful last week.  He’ll rebound and lead the team to close win.

Nebraska 41-38.
