No. 1 Cris Carter

Cris Carter, much like the person at the bottom of this list is well known today for his TV Analyst roles. Unlike Galloway though, Carter is on Fox and focuses on a variety of sports, specifically the NBA.

That isn’t what he should be known for, however. Cris Carter is not only one of the best receivers in Ohio State history, but he is also one of the greatest receivers the game of football has ever seen.

He has a place in the NFL Hall of Fame to prove it too.

In his three years from 1984-1986, Carter caught 168 passes for 2,725 yards and 27 touchdowns. Numbers that put him second in career receptions for Ohio State, 4th in career yards, and 3rd in career receiving touchdowns.

Carter was a solid contributor all three of the seasons he played for the Buckeyes bringing in 648 receiving yards as a freshman, 950 receiving yards as a sophomore, and 1,127 receiving yards as a junior.

That junior season is one of the best in Buckeye history as well placing 6th in receptions with 69, 3rd in receiving yards, and tied for 5th in receiving touchdowns with 11.

Every player I have mentioned had great stats during their Ohio State careers, and to put it simply Cris Carter doesn’t top any of the all-time Buckeye lists. But what distinguishes himself from the rest is the consistent greatness he had all three of the seasons he wore the Scarlet and Gray, as well as the freak athleticism he put on display every time he stepped on the field.
