2 Oct 1993: Quarterback Bobby Hoying of Ohio State looks to make a pass against Northwestern University in Columbus, Ohio. Ohio State won the game 51-3.

10) Les Horvath:

Les Horvath is a major reason Ohio State football has become one of the best programs of all time. He led the Buckeyes to their first National Championship in 1942 and was the first Buckeye to win the Heisman in 1944.

Horvath missed the 1943 season due to World War II. He ended his career with 1,405 yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground and threw for 509 yards and 3 scores. Remember, this was during the time when the forward pass was not as big as it is today.

Heck, when they did pass even centers and tackles were allowed to catch the ball. Horvath probably hit the big guys with a pass more than once.

9) Bobby Hoying:

Hoying may have had some problems with his passing efficiency (142.6) but he was the reason Ohio State was a powerhouse during the early to mid 90s.  Hoying is third just behind Art Schlichter in career passing yards with 7,232 yards and 57 touchdowns, and Joe Germaine in single season passing yards with 3,269 during the 1995 season.

He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 1996 NFL draft. Hoying played for six seasons with the Eagles and the Oakland Raiders.
