These are six teams the Ohio State Buckeyes could possibly face in the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State has made plenty of moves lately beginning with Ryan Day taking over the head coaching duties. The Buckeyes have made it to the College Football Playoff twice winning the first Championship against Oregon 42-20 and losing the second time in the first round to Clemson 31-0.

The question is, if Ohio State makes it to the playoff this season who will they compete against?

Here are six teams Ohio State could possibly face if they make it to the CFP. Yes, there are only four spots in the CFP but each of these teams all have a shot at being included. Let’s get this list started.

6) Georgia Bulldogs

The Bulldogs made it to the playoffs in 2017 but fell short in 2018 losing to Alabama 35-28. Georgia ranked in the top 15 in team defense and 17th in yards per game still having a very good season.

The last time the Buckeyes faced the Bulldogs was in 1993 and it ended with Georgia winning 21-14. Now, Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields would go into this game either throwing or rushing against his former team.

If this happens Ohio State would get the win, either in the playoff game or the Championship. In my opinion, the Buckeyes would just seem like the better overall team on both sides of the ball.

Especially with new defensive coordinator Greg Mattison and new head coach Ryan Day.

If this matchup were to happen, Georgia would almost certainly have to get through Alabama and win the SEC Championship because of other teams who have the potential to make the CFP.

Let’s take a look at those other teams Ohio State could face in the Final Four.
