3: Ohio State vs. Miami (2002-2003) 31-24 2OT

Probably one of the best, if not the best, Ohio State season ever.  Many games were close in 2002, but in the end the Buckeyes would face off against a powerhouse Miami team that had NFL talent all over the field.

Those players included Ken Dorsey, Sean Taylor, Kellen Winslow, Ed Reed and many more while Ohio State had Craig Krenze, Mauricel Clarett Michael Jenkins and other guys who battled every snap.

What changed the game was the controversial pass interference call on Miami.  It was the first overtime and the Hurricanes scored making it 24-17. Buckeye quarterback Craig Krenzel had one last shot to the end zone, but Chris Gamble would bobble it thanks to great defense by Glenn Sharpe.

However, just a second later a flag was thrown for pass interference, and even though the call was questionable it was still a flag.  Krenzel would rush it in tying  the game and Ohio State would score during their first possession in double overtime.

The Buckeyes then pressured Dorsey who would throw an incompletion on fourth and goal to win 31-24 in double overtime.  This was Ohio State’s first Championship since the early 70s in the Woody Hayes era and Jim Tressel’s first.
