8: Ohio State Beats Oregon (2014-2015), wins first CFP playoff championship game 42-20.

Ohio State came into this game with third string quarterback Cardale Jones who had two very good games as the starting quarterback. However, he was now going up against Heisman winner Marcus Mariota and the Oregon Ducks.

Mariota would strike first with a touchdown pass to Keanon Lowe. Ohio State would answer back a few possessions later when Ezekiel Elliott scored and then Jones would throw to Nick Vannett for a touchdown.

The Buckeyes and Ducks would remain close in the third with the score 21-17. Oregon would drive down the field but the defense would hold them to only a field goal.

After that, it was all Ohio State and Ezekiel Elliott who rushed for 246 yards and four touchdowns.  The Buckeyes would become the first team to win the College Football Playoff.
