Ohio State Football: Peter Burtnett’s complete 1st Rd. NFL Mock Draft
26. DT Jeffrey Simmons, Mississippi State – Indianapolis Colts
GM Chris Ballard bolsters the Indy defensive line and takes a big risk after Simmons’ ACL injury last February.
27. DE Clelin Ferrell, Clemson – Baltimore Ravens (from OAK [from DAL]: trade 22nd for 27th and 35th)
Ravens trade down to fill a position in dire need of greater depth (four players on the entire defensive line) and take Ferrell. Defense doesn’t call for great need of ends, but Ferrell could make this defense even better.
28. CB Rock Ya-Sin, Temple – Los Angeles Chargers
The best name in the draft finally comes off the board, as the Chargers strengthen their secondary, with Ya-Sin being the perfect compliment on the other side for Casey Hayward.
29. S Johnathan Abram, Mississippi State – Seattle Seahawks (from KC prior to Draft)
Seahawks find a player who they would try to develop into the next Kam Chancellor, as Mississippi State increases their first-round draft pick count to 3.

30. TE Noah Fant, Iowa – Green Bay Packers (from NO prior to Draft)
Fant addresses two potential needs in one: another weapon for Aaron Rodgers and could also block as a TE, although he may be used more at the receiver position.
31. C/G Garrett Bradbury, NC State – Los Angeles Rams
Rams strengthen their offensive line with a player who is versatile. I could also see the Rams adding explosive weapon Parris Campbell, but the WR room is already pretty busy.
32. WR Parris Campbell, Ohio State – New England Patriots
Parris Campbell is made to be a receiver for Tom Brady. An explosion and talented WR with incredible breakaway speed, Campbell could be receiving Brady’s drop-off passes and taking them for TDs for as long as Brady remains in the NFL.
Well, there are the 32 players I think will be first round NFL draft picks and the teams that will select them. Each of the young men who will hear their names called will have achieved their goal of having an opportunity to play on Sundays, and it’s always fun to see how those guys react. when their names are called. It promises to be an entertaining night.
