Once again Ohio State football players displayed their speed at the NFL Combine and may have earned plenty of money in less than 4.5 seconds.

The NFL Draft will begin Thursday and there will be plenty of Ohio State football players chosen. Some may be earning fast money, and plenty of it.

In what has become a spring ritual, Ohio State football players impressed scouts and general managers with fast 40 times at the NFL Combine. Players either held onto their draft positions or improved them as a result.

The 40 yard sprint certainly paid off for receivers Parris Campbell, Terry McLaurin and Johnnie Dixon. Running back Mike Weber didn’t hurt himself with his 40 time either.

Each of these players may have earned a nice payday in less than 4.5 seconds. I would call that earning some fast money.

Here is a look at the receivers and how they are projected to be chosen in mock drafts as reported by Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors .

Let’s first take a look at one of the stars of the NFL Combine, Parris Campbell.

Catching 90 passes for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns almost assured Campbell of being a fairly high pick. After running a 4.31 in the 40 at the NFL Combine some mock drafts have him being chosen in the second round.

However, The Athletic’s Dane Brugler has him being chosen at No. 30 by the Green Bay Packers. I don’t know which team will draft Campbell but I tend to agree with Brugler he will be a first round pick.

Some general manager will look at his production and his 40 time and make a smart decision.

Terry McLaurin’s stock rose significantly with his 35 catches for 701 yards and 11 touchdowns his senior season. Then he impressed pro scouts during Senior Bowl practices and by his performance in the game.

More from Ohio State Buckeyes

His 4.35 in the 40 at the Combine almost certainly moved hm up in the draft order even more. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has McLaurin going to the Indianapolis Colts at No. 26 and CBS’ Sports R.J White has him going in the second round as the 38th pick.

Because of his injury situation early in his Ohio State career many thought Johnnie Dixon would go undrafted, even though the last two years he caught 60 passes for 1,091 yards (18.2 ypc) and 16 touchdowns. Now, more than one mock draft has him being a late round pick after posting a 4.41 in the 40 at the Combine, a top ten time among wide receivers.

Mike Weber’s 4.47 time was extremely impressive as well, but I’ll get to his situation along with those of his big buddies who blocked for him later.

Dwayne Haskins not a ‘Lock’ to be 2nd QB drafted. dark. Next

I’m looking forward to seeing where the Ohio State speedsters will land in this year’s NFL Draft. I have a feeling they are about to make some fast money.
