Freshman of the Year: Luther Mohammed

This was a two-man race but Luther Mohammed’s defensive ability as well as his energy on both ends of the court gave him a slight nod over Duane Washington.

Mohammed scored 7.6 points on the season and played great perimeter defense all season racking up 32 steals and showing great lateral quickness for a freshman. He struggled at times shooting the ball but he definitely showed flashes on the offensive end.

Hopefully he can grow into a good scorer for this Buckeye team.

Honorable Mention: Duane Washington Jr.

Washington averaged 7 points per game but showed flashes of his potential to become an excellent scorer for the Buckeyes. He also has a nice all-around game for a freshman.
