No. 2 Tennessee vs. No. 10 Iowa

Like Michigan State, Tennessee also survived a scare in the first round whereas Iowa shocked Cincinnati in an upset not many saw coming. I like the Volunteers to play fast and efficient to beat the Hawkeyes and hand the Big Ten only it’s second loss to a non conference opponent of the tournament.

CL:  My first inclination was to pick #2 seeded Tennessee in this one but I can’t get Iowa’s comeback against Cincinnati out of my mind. Luka Garza, Jordan Bohannon and Co. just refused to lose.

I have to go with my gut and pick the Hawkeyes to pull off the big upset.

#3 Houston vs. #11 Ohio State

More from Ohio State Buckeyes

Blake:  The Buckeyes won an ugly one, but did exactly what they needed to do to pull the upset, play great defense and limit turnovers. Ohio State only turned it over once in the final fifteen minutes of play against Iowa State and will need more of the same to stun a red-hot Houston squad.

However, I think the Cougars’ offense will be too much for the Buckeyes in the end. But the game will be closer than the experts think.

CL:  Here I go again. I will probably just look like a Big Ten and Buckeye homer for picking another upset but here’s why I’m doing so. Ohio State defeated a Cincinnati team that defeated Houston in the AAC Championship Game recently.

Also, the Buckeyes are now 11-1 against non-conference teams. Chris Holtmann’s team surprises everybody but me and advances to the third round.
