Rutgers only had one game in week 17 but definitely made the most of it, thumping the ranked Iowa Hawkeyes 86-72 on the road. Freshman Ron Harper Jr. led the team with a career high 27 points in the big win.

The Scarlet Knights have had a much better year than many expected and they might see an NIT berth if they keep playing well to end the regular season as well as in the Big Ten Tournament.

Indiana had a huge week in week 17 and now maybe has a very big outside chance of making the NCAA Tournament. But a 15-14 overall record and a 6-12 Big Ten record probably just won’t get it done.

The Hoosiers got their fantastic week started off with a 75-73 double overtime win against ranked the Wisconsin Badgers. Freshman Romeo Langford led the team with 22 points and a huge go-ahead layup to win the game.

Then Indiana defied the odds by defeating another ranked team in Michigan State. With the win the Hoosiers have now swept the series against the Spartans this season and have two top-tier wins on their resume.

Illinois is still on the outside looking in however and will need wins over both Illinois and Rutgers to end the season as well as a solid showing in the Big Ten Tournament to squeak their way into the field of 68.
