Ohio State was able to secure the first ranked win within the Big Ten with a victory over Iowa early in the week. Justin Ahrens went off on the Hawkeyes scoring 29 points and draining 6 threes in the best game of his Buckeye career. This was a huge win as it gives Ohio State another resume booster and a quality win that they hadn’t seen since defeating Cincinnati in the first game of the season.

The Buckeyes’ high ride wouldn’t last very long though as Kaleb Wesson would be suspended a day before another huge game with Purdue. That suspension would prove costly as the Buckeyes would fall to the Boilermakers 86-51.

Ohio State now looks to improve their standing with the NCAA Tournament committee with games against Northwestern and Wisconsin in week 18.

Minnesota had one lone game in week 17 against Northwestern. The Golden Gophers came out on top by the score of 62-50 and held the Wildcats to just 34% from the field in the game.

Junior Guard Amir Coffey went wild in the match up, scoring 32 points, tying a career high that he set against Nebraska earlier in the season. Minnesota is still on the bubble and will hope to get off it in week 18.
