Purdue secured two major wins to take control of the Big Ten regular season title race with wins over both Illinois and Ohio State in week 17. The first was a 73-56 win over Illinois in which Purdue shot 55% from the field and held Illinois to 33% from the field. Carsen Edwards led the Boliermakers with 23 points on the night.

Then in an absolute blowout, Purdue shot 52% from beyond the arc and held Ohio State to 10.5% in the 86-51 in the win.The Boilermakers will be looking to keep control in week 18 and at least get a share of the Big Ten title.

Michigan State lost their lone week 17 game and with it also lost control of the Big Ten falling behind Purdue. MSU fell to Indiana for the second time this season 63-62 even though the Spartans out shot the Hoosiers by a pretty significant margin. However, committing six more turnovers proved to be costly.

Cassius Winston led Michigan State with 20 points on 8 of 11 shooting in the loss. The Spartans currently hover around the 2 to 3 seed line in the NCAA Tournament and will hope to stabilize that in week 18.
