Minnesota got a great start to their week earning an 11 point win over a rising Illinois team at home. Junior guard Amir Coffey led the Gophers with 18 points in the big win.

Minnesota would then participate in the lone Sunday Big Ten game and fell in a tough away game at Purdue. Neither team shot very well from beyond the arc but the Gophers were awful as they shot just 12.5 % on the night.

That being said Minnesota is still in prime position to be an at large bid in the NCAA Tournament come March.

What an odd week of basketball it was for the Indiana Hoosiers as they dropped their 7th game in a row to start the week to Rutgers as they just couldn’t get it going on offense against a long Scarlet Knight team. But then of all places and teams to end a 7 game skid to, the Hoosiers somehow went into East Lansing and ended their losing streak with a 79-75 win over the Michigan State Spartans.

Thanks to a 19 point outing from freshman guard Romeo Langford and a very good performance from beyond the arc, Indiana was able to pull off the upset.
