Ohio State Football: Top single season performances this decade
5. 2012 | Braxton Miller Gives Buckeyes’ Staggering Rushing Attack
2012 Stats: 148/254, 58.3%, 2,039 Yards, 15 Touchdowns, 6 Interceptions, 227 Attempts, 1,271 Yards, 13 Touchdowns
2012 is much of a forgotten season for Ohio State, which is strange to say considering the Buckeyes went 12-0. The Buckeyes were ineligible for post season play following sanctions from the Jim Tressel era but they more than likely would have been a national championship contender.
Carlos Hyde and Braxton Miller gave the Buckeyes a nasty 1-2 punch that averaged over 242.2 rushing yards per game and combined for 29 touchdowns. Miller didn’t exactly shine with his arm as he only completed 58.3% if his passes for 2,039 yards and 15 touchdowns.
However, he used his legs to perfection posting 1,271 yards on the ground and 13 TDs. Miller had a dominant stretch of 134+ rushing yards in 4 out of 5 games from the end of September to the end of October. During that stretch he rushed for a total of 652 yards and 5 scores.
Now for Buckeyes on the other side of the ball and their outstanding seasons.
