Northwestern just could not shoot the ball to save their lives against Michigan State and lost on the road 81-55. Derek Pardon got it going a bit in the second half for Northwestern, but his 19 points still were not enough to overcome a 20 point halftime deficit.

The Wildcats were able to rebound on Sunday though, sort of. They got a 2 point win over the now 4-11 Illinois Fighting Illini thanks to a late three from A.J. Turner but still did not look great. No matter, Northwestern will still be happy to get their first win of the Big Ten season.

Rutgers could have had a better week as trailing by 21 at half in your first Big Ten game in a month is not how you want your week to go. It didn’t get much better either as the Scarlet Knights ended up losing by 14 to the Terrapins, falling to 0-3 in the Big Ten.

Rutgers has had little success since joining the Big Ten and it doesn’t seem to be getting better this season.
