Nebraska cracks the top five in week 8 thanks to a strong showing over Southwest Minnesota State, a game that the Cornhuskers won by 41. This is just beginning for the squad of Tim Miles as behind senior leader James Palmer Jr., the Cornhuskers will look to make some noise in the Big Ten and find themselves in the NCAA Tournament for the second time under Miles.

The Cornhuskers start conference play with a tough match up against the Maryland Terrapins.

Minnesota jumps to number 6 in the Big Ten rankings, a spot that that I didn’t think they would ever get to this season. But the Golden Gophers played well to start of this season and find themselves 11-2 going into Big Ten play.

Their final non conference win came over Mount St. Mary’s and Minnesota will look to keep that momentum going against Wisconsin on Thursday.
