The Ohio State basketball team finally got back into action this past Saturday with a game against Bucknell that was a lot closer than it needed to be.

There was plenty of action that took place in week six of Big Ten Basketball play. While some top teams had scares with inferior teams, including Ohio State, others had big wins. One program that is normally a power house in the conference continues to struggle. We are looking at you Purdue.

With that being said here are the new rankings after week six of the College Basketball season.

  1. Michigan | 11-0 (2-0)
  2. Michigan State | 9-2 (2-0)
  3. Indiana | 9-2 (2-0)
  4. Ohio State | 9-1 (2-0)
  5. Wisconsin | 9-2 (2-0)
  6. Iowa | 8-2 (0-2)
  7. Nebraska | 9-2 (1-1)
  8. Maryland | 9-2 (1-1)
  9. Minnesota | 9-2 (1-1)
  10. Northwestern | 8-3 (0-2)
  11. Purdue | 6-5 (1-1)
  12. Penn State | 5-5 (0-2)
  13. Rutgers | 5-5 (0-2)
  14. Illinois | 4-7 (0-2)

Michigan stays on top of this list for the 5th week in a row, but similar to the Buckeyes, the Wolverines had themselves a bit of a scare only winning by 8 against MAC Conference opponent Western Michigan. Senior guard Charles Matthews came up big for Michigan scoring 25 points in the win.

Next up is Air Force on Saturday.

The Michigan State Spartans continue to be on the heels of their in state brother at number two thanks to a big offensive outing against Green Bay by shooting 51 percent from the field. The Spartans were led by veteran forward Nick Ward who scored 28 points.

MSU currently ranks seventh in the country in points per game and hopes to continue lighting up the scorboard against Oakland this Friday.
