Ohio State Football: Revisiting 2018 Season Predictions
Freshman Player of the Year
With so many experienced players on the Ohio State football team I thought it might be tough for a freshman to have a significant impact this season.
My pick was Josh Proctor since depth at safety was not as strong as other spots. I figured he would get quality playing time.
Who would have thought that a three-star recruit from California would be Ohio State’s best freshman? Especially when he played on the team’s most experienced unit, and one that ended up having four receivers with 500-plus yards.
Not me.
Chris Olave decided he would do what Haskins did last season, use “The Game” as his coming out party as he finished with 48 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
He followed it up by catching 5 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown against Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game.
Now a look at where I thought the Buckeyes might stumble.
