Ohio State Basketball: Power rankings as Big Ten play kicks off

Michigan State suffered their second loss of the season when they lost to Louisville in the Big Ten/ACC challenge, but were able to get off to good start in Big Ten play getting a win at Rutgers. In saying that, the Spartans have sometimes looked underwhelming and struggled with the Scarlet Knights, a team they normally handle pretty easily.

Whether that speaks on the quality of Rutgers or not we will find out soon.

Maryland suffered a narrow loss against number 4 ranked Virginia in the Big Ten/ACC challenge but turned around and beat a tough Penn State squad in Big Ten conference play. The Terrapins, although suffering their first loss, were able to score 71 on the Cavaliers which is normally a tough thing to do against the stingy Virginia defense.

Mark Turgeon and crew will look to continue their good start of a season against Purdue on Thursday.
