The Ohio State football team will take on the Northwestern Wildcats for the Big Ten Championship Saturday. Here are predictions on that matchup and other conference championship games.

Every week I provide my predictions for the Big Ten games. Last week I finished 4-3.

I am 73-31 on the year, but as always, I caution following my lead when betting.

Since there is only one Big Ten game this week, I am expanding my weekly picks to include the Power 5 Conference Championship games.

Ohio State vs. Northwestern:

The Buckeyes’ path to the Big Ten Football Championship game was mostly bumpy for the first 11 games and then they put it all together to annihilate the Wolverines.

For the first time since 2015, Ohio State showed championship-level physicality across the nine units.

More importantly, we saw glimpses of the old Urban Meyer. Motivated, determined and willing to go for the jugular.

If that team shows up against Northwestern, it will win convincingly.

The Wildcats are solid and will provide a test, but I don’t think they have the depth or speed to make it a four-quarter game.

The Buckeyes will know what they need to do to earn a playoff bid as the SEC and Big12 Championship games will be over before kickoff.  I expect them to deliver another great performance.

Ohio State 38-17.
