Common Opponent – Michigan

Ohio State beat the brakes off of Michigan. The Wolverines appeared as though they did not even belong on the same field as the Buckeyes athletically.

What’s to make of Notre Dame versus Clemson or Alabama when it would potentially be the same type of matchup as Michigan or LSU versus Ohio State or Alabama respectively?

Granted Ohio State and Notre Dame played Michigan on opposite ends of the regular season, but both games were at home. All everyone has been talking about was how Michigan would defeat Notre Dame if they played again because it was Shea Patterson’s first game in a new offensive system.

Not to mention the Wolverines defense had vastly improved and some even argued they won the final three quarters of the opening game, but just could not overcome the early deficit.

Going by that logic, since it was preached religiously for the latter part of the season, Ohio State beat a much better Michigan team and did so emphatically. The Buckeyes posted sixty-two points on the Wolverines No. 1 defense and the final score was not even indicative to the throttling that occurred.

Michigan even had the referees attempt to keep them in the game and that still was not enough to make The Game close(r). Urban Meyer and Ohio State sent a message last Saturday to silence the doubters and the naysayers as they put it all together.

The Game was one of the most physically dominating performances in recent memory for the Buckeyes. The committee will have to take note of that especially if it is replicated in the Big Ten Championship Game.
