The Ohio State basketball team is off to a terrific start this season. So where do the 6-0 Buckeyes stand in this week’s Big Ten power rankings?

The Ohio State basketball team remained undefeated and it was yet another interesting week in the Big Ten. Some teams had key wins, some had close losses to elite teams and others lost to teams not so elite.

Here are your Big Ten Power Rankings after week 3 of the college basketball season.

  1. Michigan (6-0)
  2. Michigan State (5-1)
  3. Iowa (5-0)
  4. Ohio State (6-0)
  5. Wisconsin (5-1)
  6. Purdue (5-1)
  7. Minnesota (5-0)
  8. Maryland (6-0)
  9. Indiana (5-1)
  10. Northwestern (5-1)
  11. Nebraska (5-1)
  12. Rutgers (5-1)
  13. Illinois (2-4)
  14. Penn State (3-2)

Michigan definitely had a better week in basketball than they did in football as they were able to keep rolling with a 83-55 win over Chattanooga on Friday. Coach Beilein unsurprisingly has his Michigan crew playing well to start the season as they have the 11th best scoring margin in the nation with 22.5 on average through six games.

This is largely due to their stifling defense which ranks No. 1 in the nation only allowing 48.3 points per game.

Michigan State jumps Iowa in this weeks edition of the power rankings thanks to big wins over both UCLA and Texas. Both of those games ended in ten point wins for Tom Izzo’s squad.

Unlike their brother in Ann Arbor, the Spartans have one of the best offenses in the nation scoring 89.8 points per game which is the 8th best. The Michigan State vs. Michigan match up should be one for the books this season.
