The Ohio State football team has now played over half of its regular season games so here are my power rankings of teams in contention to make the playoff.

It it getting closer to that time when the College Football Playoff Committee will meet to decide their first playoff poll of the season. I thought it would be fun to see where the Ohio State football team ranks in relation to the rest of the country.

There is actually a lot of speculation as to whether or not Notre Dame possibly being in the mix hurts a team such as Ohio State’s chances of getting in. Time will tell but I will try to assess who the best teams in the country are right now with the Week 8 CFB Power Rankings.

10. Georgia

If you are a Georgia Bulldog fan, you were probably pulling your hair out throughout the entirety of the debacle in Baton Rouge on Saturday thinking that all hope of making the College Football Playoff was lost.

Those Georgia fans could be right, but I don’t think that all hope faded away with the loss to LSU.

The Bulldogs have a bye week and then they get to face the Florida Gators at home and they defeated LSU in week 6.  A win over Florida and Georgia will be in the driver’s seat to represent the East in the SEC Championship game and the Bulldogs will be right in the thick of the conversation for the College Football Playoff.

However, if they lose that game they are essentially eliminated from playoff contention as well as on the outside looking in the SEC East.

Every game from here on out is a must win for Georgia so why not start it off with one of the best teams in the country.
