The Myth

Unfortunately, there is a big myth surrounding Urban Meyer. It starts with the fact that he condones domestic violence and the turned his back on the truth and lied.

The sad truth is that people have made so many negative assumptions about Urban Meyer which in turn has tarnished his reputation across the country. People want to jump at his throat which speaks more about the haters than Urban himself.

Domestic Violence

Urban Meyer has never condoned domestic violation or anything that breaks school rules. In fact, during the time he has been in charge of the Ohio State football program he has not been afraid to punish players who have broken team rules.

He has set a high standard of excellence and done so by responding to this whole situation with class, and was truthful in every facet. The investigation by the University proved Urban did not cover up domestic violence so anyone who thinks differently is ignorant to the truth.

Lying

Urban Meyer misspoke at Big Ten Media Days and in no way was he trying to lie or falsify the truth. If anyone is truly honest with themselves, they will admit they have misspoken before and that simply is not lying. Unfortunately, perception of someone when you are the biggest name at Ohio State can be a bad situation, which is what happened to Urban Meyer.

What many people across the country fail to recognize is that Ohio State spent two weeks investigating and half-million dollars to seek the truth. Throughout the whole process Urban was truthful, and if he lied about anything the committee would have surely found out.

At the end of the day, if Urban Meyer covered up domestic violence in any way or lied he would have been fired. Coaches have been fired for much less and with law enforcement involved on numerous occasions. It would have been a done deal if he had lied or covered up domestic violence.
