There are plenty of former Ohio State football players in the NFL and many are enjoying success. Each week I’ll list the top ten performers.
Ever since Urban Meyer took over as the head coach of the Ohio State football team he has sent tons of players to the NFL. It’s become evident during that time Buckeyes can hang with the best in the pros.
I want to spotlight some of those players playing on Sundays who are off to a good start this season.
Here is a list of the my top 10 Buckeyes in the NFL so far season and I will update the list each week. This year has had a few surprises as Buckeye rookies have already made an impact on their respective teams, and players who have been put up big numbers since they entered the NFL are performing well once again.
Note: Yes, I know Joey Bosa is not on this list and that is because he hasn’t played yet this season. Once he gets game action for the Chargers, I am sure that he will make this list.
10. Raekwon McMillan
2018 Season: Games Played: 2 | 6 Tackles | 3 Assists
Last Week vs Jets: 3 Tackles
Raekwon McMillan is probably a player that has flown right under most Buckeye fans radars this season and that is likely because of the season ending injury that he obtained during the off-season leading up to his rookie year.
But he is finally healthy and not only has he played in both games for the Miami Dolphins this season, he played every single snap for a Miami Dolphin defense that held the Jets to just 12 points this past week. His stats for the season include 6 tackles and 3 assists as well as a recovered fumble. Don’t sleep on Raekwon, he is only going to get better as the season goes on.
9. Malcom Jenkins
2018 Season: Games Played: 2 | 7 Tackles | 1 Assist
Last Week vs Buccaneers: 4 Tackles | 1 Assist
Malcom Jenkins is now a super bowl winner having been on that magical Philadelphia Eagles team last season. He still currently resides in Philadelphia and has gotten off to a pretty strong start in his 10th NFL season. Through two games he has 7 tackles and 1 assist as well as a forced fumble for a 1-1 Eagles team. He is one of the older Buckeyes in the league, but he is still going strong.
