Michigan State at Arizona State

Given what the Spartans returned from last year, their week one performance was shocking.  Particularly in the secondary where it allowed 319 yards.

Herm Edwards got his first win as the Aztec’s coach last week throttling UTSA 49-7.  As expected, his team was solid in all phases.

If history means anything, the Spartans are in for a battle.  Arizona State is 20-13 against the Big Ten and undefeated at home.  None of that matters on Saturday night, but it is interesting banter.

I am wondering if the late kickoff will impact Michigan State though.  Better get an afternoon nap because this game starts at 9:45PM Eastern.

I expect this to be a defensive struggle for about three quarters and then the offenses will get going.  Spartans score a late field goal to seize the win, 30-27.
