Things to expect from the Ohio State football team in 2018.

Welcome to Scarlet and Game! Now that the Ohio State football team has played their last game of an eventful 2017 season, we will look ahead to what Buckeye fans can be excited about for the 2018 season.

Ohio State will lose a lot of talented players, most notably JT Barrett and Billy Price, to the NFL Draft and graduation. However, Buckeye football will still continue and there will still be bright spots as we prepare for the 2018 season.

After watching the game against TTUN, I believe we are all looking forward to seeing Dwayne Haskins consistently taking snaps. After Barrett left the game with a knee injury and the Buckeyes losing to TTUN at the time, Haskins came in relief and completed 6 of 7 passes for 94 yards and a quarterback rating of 198.5.

He also led the Ohio State offense to 17 points in 3 possessions and was able to come away with a win. Those were some of the best numbers that a quarterback had put up against TTUN all season, and that should be a very good sign for Buckeyes fans.

Haskins will presumably be given the starting job  and Urban Meyer will give him every opportunity to succeed. Expect Haskins to enter next season as one of the favorites for the Heisman Trophy, and also expect him to live up to that hype.
